Soul Mate. These precious two words evoke passion, emotion and hope in each of us. Every person who has not made that extraordinary connection is on a constant quest for their Soul Mate, so much so that it is almost a cliche to say one is searching for their Soul Mate as that would be stating the obvious.
But the paradox is a true Soul Mate is a mirror, a reflection of yourself. The person who shows you everything that’s holding you back. The person who brings you full circle to your own attention so you can assess your life. A true Soul Mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet because they tear down your walls, break through your boundaries and energize your senses. Your shared, deep affinity for each other creates a foundation for openness and trust.
But I would argue that a Soul Mate does not necessarily last forever, nor are you possibly limited to only one in a lifetime. Soul Mates can come crashing into your life just to reveal another dimension of yourself to you, and then exit just as quickly. They will transform your life and set you on a deeper, richer path. They may possess your heart, then crack it wide open, which allows new light to shine on you. In a tender, loving way, they may shake you up and tear apart your ego, shedding light on your own obstacles and addictions. Ideally, they will challenge you to transform your life to reach your full potential, perhaps even spark a spiritual awakening.
Our Soul Mate(s) can successfully introduce us to so many revelations because they operate from within our very core, it’s an inside job penetrating from within! The Soul Mate works from the inside and not blocked from the numerous walls we protect externally. Of course, it’s not malicious, purposeful or even by design but rather develops organically into something beautiful. This is a natural and healthy flow on our journey that helps challenge us to new heights. So, keep your heart open to your Soul Mate(s), they are a magical discovery and the greatest gift of life.
